COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Since Dec. 1, the Food Bank of Wyoming has been doubling donations—matched dollar-for-dollar up to $125,000—to help ease food insecurity as local needs remain pressing; donations will be accepted until Dec. 31.  K2 Radio
  • On Monday, Dec. 8, Natrona County nonprofits will begin applying for United Way grants to support basic needs, health & wellness, or youth development. The application window remains open until Dec. 19 and may close early if demand is high.  Jack FM
  • From December 1 until December 31, the John P. Ellbogen Foundation will double every dollar given to the Food Bank of Wyoming to fight food insecurity — and Headbangers Against Hunger will host an event at Oil City Beer Company on December 20 at 6 p.m.  Jack FM

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Casper Historic Preservation Commission unveiled its third annual Christmas ornament today that honors the Rialto Theater — a historic landmark now a comedy venue. Only 500 individually numbered keepsakes are available for $20 at the Fort Caspar Museum, with proceeds supporting preservation efforts.  The Cowboy

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Casper's Sewer Division has partnered with The Science Zone to offer free field trips for every fifth-grade student to learn about stormwater pollution. The Ocean Bound exhibit (an interactive display) and Every Drop Counts workshop will teach water stewardship until January 2026.  Oil City News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Wyoming ski areas opened earlier this week after a mild November as Thursday saw three lifts run at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and Friday brought Grand Targhee’s opening - smaller resorts like Antelope Butte and Hogadon Basin plan to begin skiing later when snow increases.  Oil City News
  • The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (Dec. 4–13) is ongoing in Las Vegas, where Wyoming cowboys and cowgirls, including Casper College alumni, compete in events such as saddle bronc riding, barrel racing and steer wrestling.  Jack FM
