COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Food Bank of Wyoming distributed over 10 million meals in 2025 — roughly 10.2 million meals — to help meet a decade-high surge in hunger while working with local partners; it also added new staff and formed an advisory council to guide its plans for increased food support in 2026.  Wyoming News Now
  • Casper’s annual Stuff the Van toy drive wrapped up its 28th year when volunteers organized a pickup station at Urban Farm in north Casper—delivering bicycles, scooters, and hoverboards to 1,000 children and 350 families for the holidays.  K2 Radio

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Feds and Wyoming officials have greenlit the Dry Piney helium production and CO2 sequestration project (one of the world’s largest planned to rival ExxonMobil’s Shute Creek plant near LaBarge).  Casper Star-Tribune

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Natrona County maintained its status as Wyoming’s cheapest gas market with an average of $2.16 per gallon today. According to GasBuddy data, prices dropped 6 cents while the national average for regular gasoline fell to $2.79, 63 cents higher than local prices + Sam’s Club recorded the lowest price at $2.05.  Oil City News
  • GasBuddy data shows the average gas price in Wyoming is $2.45 per gallon, down over 30 cents in the past month—ranging from $2.05 to $3.35 across 494 stations. Falling oil prices and high refinery output are keeping costs low for motorists.  K2 Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Casper-based Modern Electric Co. will install ADA and electrical upgrades on a .1 mile stretch of Broadway Avenue in Jackson between Jackson Street and Millward Street. The $995,000 contract project is set to finish by the end of 2026 (tourists and residents should expect detours).  Oil City News
  • The U.S. Postal Service will deliver mail on Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) for Wyoming residents with reduced branch hours due to the holiday rush, while post offices will close on Christmas Day and blue boxes remain available for last-minute drops.  Jack FM

HEALTH NEWS

  • Wyoming State Parks and Wyoming Game and Fish warn that warmer winter weather may make lake ice less safe for winter sports. They advise visitors to check ice thickness (4 inches for foot traffic, 6 inches for vehicles) and carry safety gear for self‑rescue in risky spots.  Oil City News
