Prometheus Hyperscale has dropped its planned $500 million data center campus in Natrona County, but the ranch where it was to go says the project is still on. Falls Ranch representative Robert Hand said the shift “will expedite and elevate this project for Natrona County.”
Advance Casper CEO Justin Farley said other developers have properties under option, and “Natrona County is still open for business.” Commission Vice Chairman Casey Coates said the ranch's claim of a new developer will mean something once there's a formal application.

The ranch's owner, Texas billionaire Russell Gordy, once fought energy development in the same hills. In 2009 he proposed a land swap with the state, saying the aim was “to not have windmills on the mountain.” He pulled the swap after hunters objected.
